Description:
Line Master was created out of a Lego Mindstorm kit. I programmed it with lejos. This robot had a long nose with 2 light sensors to detect the line. The picture only shows one sensor bwcause I was sharing a light sensor between two robots. The long nose helped the robot to detect a turn early. The algorythm used to keep the robot from waging back and forth helped this robot to achieve first place in the April 19th 2003 Line Following Event. In the algorythm I choose to let the robot continue on a straight path until both sensors no longer see the white line. Then I just turned into the direction of the sensor that last saw the line. Once the line was detected again the robot headed straight again.
