I wanted to try something different with FastSpat, so I used a dual gearbox
instead of hacked servos, to give it some speed. As it turns out, it wasn't
much faster then the servo based sumos. FastSpat is based on a pair of kitchen
spatulas that form front and rear wedges. The rear wedge is hinged and folds up
to make a base for the robot to sit on in it's starting position. The processor
is an AT90S2313 which controls a 754410 H-bridge motor driver. A pair of
photocells and red LED's are used for edge detection of the ring.
