PAReX Meeting Notes

Old Business:

Introduction Meeting opens with Bob introducing himself and giving a brief history of PAReX, then having all in attendance introducing themselves.

IRS 501 c (3) status fund raising: We need $500.00 to get there and then the benefits will be tax exemptions for all donations made to the club.

BattleBots BattleBots will be holding an event in Las Vegas NV, heavyweights only, this could be the beginning of a large growth of robotic combat in the USA.

New Business:

Club robot for Demos: We discussed building a large robot for doing public displays, most likely a walker that weighs in at several hundred pounds. Funds for the project are to be gained through donations, and the robot will be the property of PAReX INC., a committee will be formed to build such a robot.

Arranging Public Demos Doing Public demos could help to bring in more members and money into the club, possible locations include Deer Valley 30 AMC Theaters and Christown Mall.

The Mavric Project Brandon Talks about the Mavric Project.- Mavric is a collegiate competition where student teams attempt to fly a 6" aircraft 1½ miles to a 1.5 meter target area and send back a video image of the target zone. This upcoming event will be held a Ft. Huachuca, here in AZ. Brandon is looking for Volunteers to help out. The team is split into 4 groups; Aerodynamics, propulsion, instrumentation, and Structures.
