PAReX Meeting Notes
The new east side meeting place at ASU Technology building is certainly a great find.
There are a lot of cool looking projects to explore. The atmosphere is just right for
hobby roboticists! This meeting started off on a mini tour of the facility and a description
of some of the projects by one of the ASU Students Dan Burns.

May 18th was picked for the Maze/Sumo competition at the Challenger Learning Center in Peoria.
This date has been confirmed with the Challenger Center. We will be conducting the
event at the bottom floor of the facility. There is plenty of room to set up tables
for robot demos and the plan is to have 4 sumo rings and 1 maze in the center of the room.
The competition will be open to all. A single class for Sumo bots. Two classes for the Maze(Novice and Advanced)
There will be another web page created to cover all the particulars for this event.
Dave Henderson agreed to build a box to validate the Sumo Bots size restrictions. We are
in search of a good scale to use during the event. Mike Linnen and Kelly Small volunteered to
donate their Sumo Rings. We still need two more Sumo rings to complete the setup. John Kittelsrud
volunteered to help out on making some educational material, but I am sure he would gladly accept some assistance
Web Site
The website facelift was welcomed by all. John Kittelsrud is rounding up some additional photos
to place on the meeting and event archives. All attendees agreed that Bob Bayless's Bot of the Month idea was cool.
Mike Bloom agreed to help out on some perl scripting if it is needed for the Member Profiles area.
Speaker From MicroChip
Dave Henderson said this is a sure thing. He was just waiting for the new east side meeting place to get ironed out
before setting a date on when this could happen.
Hamilton High Science Fair
No new details on when this is happening. We suspect it will be the beginning of March.
